Concert completed this prestigious development on time to mark the centenary year of the RAF in 2018. The RAF Club had identified a need for more bedrooms for the exclusive use of its members, improved business facilities and a contemporary fitness suite. Meticulous planning enabled the creation of 17 further bedrooms, three of which are located on the roof. In addition, a new business suite on the first floor, fitness suite and office on the ground floor, and catering and laundry facilities were also delivered.
All construction took place whilst the rest of the club remained in operation. This presented a number of challenges, not least the requirement to install a tower crane to erect the 7 storey structure, this entailed closing Piccadilly over two weekends to allow access. Organising this procedure was very complex due to the number of stakeholders involved and could be cancelled last minute dependent on events such as Commonwealth meetings and protests.
The challenging nature of this build required robust stakeholder management from our experienced team.
