What is the most rewarding part of your role?
For me is all about helping to improve workplace health and safety. We should not be letting workers become ill or injured in their working environment. It costs society upwards of £14 billion every year to help people recover from workplace accidents. We all know that we must provide a safe place to work, but once we establish it, we must ensure everyone is on board with the safe working methods, risk management and developing safe working procedures to implement on a daily basis.
What is the most interesting place you’ve travelled to with work?
Demolition site
What does your work day look like?
Undertaking health & safety site visits and meeting great people. I believe it’s better to hold a client’s hand and lead them through the health and Safety minefield than to risk allowing them to make a mistake doing it on their own.
What is the best piece of industry advice you’ve been given?
To wear PPE during site visits!
What is your favourite hobby/ personal interest?
Hiking in mountains, baking.
What are your goals for 2023?
To understand new Building Control Regulations, mastering making sushi, visit Alps Mountains in Germany.
